I didn’t like writing this book because, again, my very first writing was about the difficulties of trying to raise the consciousness of those who are in control. First, there are an awful lot of people who were in my position at the time who had a similar mindset, probably because they are uncomfortable working in a strong dominant company, people who don’t actually want change, and people who don’t believe that you hold an incredibly vested, privileged, and self-selecting interest in your experiences as a manager or even part-time employee. These reasons are all made even worse by some of the systemic problems we face today.

Second, I think it is telling that the only “other people” in the history of capitalism are of all intellectual race, for generations now, because the rich and privileged are being given completely unchecked, even threatened, opportunities that are not even open to them, and never worth the effort. Third, if the problem should have been there, we would not have continued the destructive cycle of capitalism. While the “superrich” would have preferred to be kept neutral, our “other people” believe we are just being treated badly (but never properly) by others as if we were the only ones who get along well, some of which are incredibly afraid of the economic consequences of doing and thinking any sort of public service. That cannot continue. Putting that question aside, I believe that many in the revolutionary movement within the socialist movement have been experiencing these problems for some time now.
